Woodside is owned and operated by Zach and Lucy Stoltzfus. Long ago, Lucy’s ancestors lived in Tuamarina. Lucy was born in Auckland but grew up in the United States, where she and Zach met. A shared love of learning, travel, and food brought them together and, eventually, all the way back to Tuamarina.

Zach and Lucy enjoy interacting with guests and learning about their lives. Having lived in Germany, Belgium, Austria, France, and Bosnia for extended periods of time, they are keen on hosting guests from abroad (but also love hosting Kiwis, of course!) Lucy and Zach have a wide array of interests, especially in music and history, their respective fields of study.

Woodside is home to the Stoltzfus children, Gabriel (an expert on dinosaurs and trains) and Margaret (a budding artist). It is also home to several species of native birds and a small herd of cattle.
